CATL also has a strong presence in the energy storage system market, participating in large-scale projects such as the Minety Battery Energy Storage System in the UK and the Jinjiang 100 MWh Energy Storage Power Station Project in China. CATL is committed to innovation and sustainability, launching its CTP 3.0 battery “Qilin” and achieving zero-carbon certification for its Yibin Plant in 2022.
BYD
The chinese company BYD is one of the leading companies in the field of lithium batteries for electric vehicles. It produces its own battery cells and packs, and supplies them to various automakers, including Ford. BYD’s lithium batteries are based on iron-phosphate chemistry, which offers high safety and long cycle life. BYD also develops new energy solutions, such as solar power and energy storage, to promote clean and sustainable energy.
LG Energy Solution

Panasonic’s commitment to innovation is evident in their ongoing research to enhance battery performance. They have also deployed thousands of charging stations globally, supporting the growth of EV infrastructure. Panasonic’s quantitative contributions have significantly accelerated the adoption and development of electric vehicles.
Samsung
Samsung is a global leader in lithium-ion battery production for various applications, such as electric vehicles, energy storage systems, and consumer electronics. Samsung SDI, the battery division of Samsung, has a 15-year experience of lithium-ion battery mass production and has sold over 7 billion cells for the past 15 years.
Samsung SDI is also investing in the development and production of solid-state batteries, which are expected to offer higher energy density, longer lifespan, and better safety than conventional batteries. Samsung SDI has recently started building a pilot production line for solid-state batteries at its research and development center in Suwon, South Korea. The company aims to achieve market-leading research results and production technologies for solid-state batteries and become the world’s No. 1 battery manufacturer.
Samsung SDI also plans to expand its production capacity for lithium-ion batteries in North America through a joint venture with Stellantis, a global automaker. The joint venture will produce battery cells and modules for Stellantis’ next-generation electric vehicles and help Stellantis achieve its electrification goals.
